Romania secures eight boats for finals at U23 Rowing Championships in Poland

Romania will have eight crews competing for medals at the U23 Rowing Championships in Kruszwica, Poland. The Romanian athletes secured their places in the A Finals on Saturday, showcasing their determination and talent on the water.

Bianca Ifteni made a strong impression by winning her series in the women's single scull with a time of 08:20.07, advancing directly to the Final A. Meanwhile, Iulica-Maria Ursu and Andreea Petraș also shone, winning their series in the women's double scull with a time of 07:54.53.

In the men's double scull, Mateus-Simion Cozminciuc and Fabrizio-Alexandru Scripcariu claimed a spot in the Final A after finishing first in their series with a time of 07:00.04. Cosmin Iulian Pleşescu, Eduard Angel Moldovan, Andrei Vatamaniuc, and Leontin Nuțescu demonstrated their strength by winning their series in the men's four with a time of 06:21.09.

The women's four crew, consisting of Andreea Bianca Marin, Mădălina-Dumitriţa Ursaciuc, Iuliana Irina Cantoriu, and Iuliana Isabela Boldea, also excelled, winning their preliminary race with a time of 07:38.07. Ioana Gabriela Cristescu, Francesca Iulia Stejar, Sonia Teodora Biță, and Daria-Elena Maximiuc finished third in the women's four with a time of 06:58.63, showcasing their competitive spirit.

In the men's double scull, David Costel Chitic and Daniel Vasile Chitic placed fourth in both their initial series and the second semifinal with times of 07:04.13 and 06:53.04, respectively. The men's eight crew, featuring Antonel Avăcăriței, Andrei Perdei, Patrick Francisc Sebestyen, Sebastian Alexandru Tașcă, Nicolae Răzvan Stoian, Sergiu Anfimov, Mateus-Simion Cozminciuc, Fabrizio-Alexandru Scripcariu, and Maria-Antonia Iancu, won their series with an impressive time of 05:54.77.

In a notable achievement, the women's eight crew, including Maria Ariana Balint, Andreea Petraș, Beatrice Piseru, Georgiana Blănariu, Stejara Olariu, Bianca-Elena Drăghici, Iulica-Maria Ursu, Denisa Cristina Ailincăi, and Irina Lucia Andreea Despa, also secured a victory in their series with a time of 06:43.22. These accomplishments highlight the strength and potential of Romanian rowing on the international stage.
