Animal Summit România 2026 focuses on animal protection and education

The second edition of Animal Summit România is set to take place on September 29 and 30, 2026, at the prestigious Palatul Cotroceni. This important event aims to address the pressing issues surrounding animal protection and prevention.

Organized by Asociația Sache and the Autoritatea pentru Supravegherea și Protecția Animalelor București, the summit will feature a diverse lineup of experts. Notable speakers include Ben Howitt from WVS, Laura Davis from WOAH, and Conf. Univ. Dr. Viorel Andronie, President of the Colegiul Medicilor Veterinari din România.

The summit will introduce interdisciplinary panels covering critical topics such as education on abandonment prevention and the coexistence of humans and wildlife. One panel will tackle how to educate a generation that does not abandon pets, while another will discuss the challenges of wildlife habitats.

A media panel will focus on transforming animal protection causes into significant news topics, emphasizing the role of journalism in raising awareness. Additionally, roundtable discussions led by Boehringer Ingelheim will aim to identify realistic solutions to animal protection issues.

The event will also feature contributions from various professionals, including Olivia Pamfil, an ethologist specializing in human-canine relationships, and Alida Barbu, a biologist with the Societatea Ornitologică Română. Personalities from media and social media, such as Dana Săvuică and Silviu Istrate, will also participate, bringing their unique perspectives to the discussions.

The summit's commitment to animal welfare extends to the emotional health of those working directly with animals, supported by Purina PRO PLAN and the Social Psychotherapy Center. The Asociația pentru Relații Comunitare will present insights on building a predictable fundraising system, further enhancing the event's impact.
