Biodex LLC explores production expansion in Maramureș

Biodex LLC, a significant Ukrainian company in the medical products sector, is considering expanding its production capabilities in Romania. The company, known for manufacturing hygiene products and medical supplies, including adult and children's diapers, sanitary pads, and medical dressings, has been actively exploring options in northern Romania.

Representatives from Biodex LLC have met with local authorities in Maramureș to discuss potential development plans. The region has proposed several alternatives for establishing a new production facility, highlighting intelligent specialization parks in Baia Sprie, Fărcașa, Șomcuta Mare, and Târgu Lăpuș as viable options.

Biodex is also open to the idea of utilizing already constructed spaces to expand its production capacity. While the company, based in Dnipro, has not yet made a decision regarding its investment in Romania, its exploration reflects a broader trend of Ukrainian companies relocating some of their operations to the country following the onset of the war in 2022.

This initiative could bolster local economies and create job opportunities in Maramureș, showcasing the resilience and adaptability of businesses amid challenging circumstances.
