Celebrating Milestones in Dual Education at EduPro Summit #2

On October 15, the EduPro Summit #2 brought together leaders and innovators in education at the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel. This event highlighted the significant strides made in Romania's dual education system, which has been in place for a decade.

Sebastian Metz, the General Director of AHK Romania, led the discussions alongside notable figures such as Mihai Peticilă, co-founder of Edupedu.ro, and Dalia-Maria Dărămuș, director of the National Center for the Development of Vocational and Technical Education (CNDIPT). CNDIPT is currently reviewing around 200 qualifications within this system, underscoring the commitment to improving educational standards.

The dual education initiative has successfully trained approximately 1,200 young people through partnerships with 13 high schools, resulting in over 400 students earning certifications from the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Berlin. This training model aims to equip students with practical skills that meet industry demands.

AHK Romania's project 'Școala de Carte și Meserii' has played a pivotal role in this success, with support from six economic partners, including Hornbach, Lidl, and Penny România. At the summit, partners were recognized for their contributions to the development of dual education, with Penny România receiving a special distinction for its training efforts.

The event also celebrated the achievements of Grup Feroviar Român, which received the prestigious Bildungspreis for its exceptional training project in the railway sector, Școala GFR. This award reflects the collective effort to enhance vocational education in Romania, promoting a culture of lifelong learning.

Dan Lăzărescu, General Director of Robert Bosch SRL and Vice President of AHK Romania, emphasized the need for employees to continuously learn and adapt in today's evolving job market. Looking ahead, AHK Romania aims to foster stronger ties across Europe, with the 2026 theme 'Together for a stronger Europe. Trust creates tomorrow.'

The EduPro Summit #2 not only showcased the milestones achieved in dual education but also set the stage for future collaborations that will benefit generations of students to come.
