Darius Adrian Sas wins bronze medal at U20 World Wrestling Championships

Romania has proudly secured a bronze medal at the Under-20 World Wrestling Championships held in Bratislava, Slovakia. This achievement highlights the dedication and talent of young athletes representing the country on an international stage.

Darius Adrian Sas made his mark in the 92 kg freestyle category, overcoming Belarusian wrestler Alan Țagaraev in the match for the bronze medal. Sas's journey to the podium included impressive victories over Azerbaijani Husein Mamadtaghizada in the preliminaries and Moldovan Alexandru Borș in the round of 16.

His path was not without challenges, as Sas triumphed over Turkmen wrestler Dovletgheldi Miradov in the quarterfinals before facing a tough semifinal match against Iranian Abolfazl Yaser Rahmani Firouzjaei, where he was narrowly defeated.

In addition to Sas’s success, other Romanian wrestlers faced tough competition. Balazs Lorincz was eliminated in the preliminaries of the 97 kg category by Iranian Toohid Amirali Noory, and Brian Samuel Techerean lost in the round of 16 in the 125 kg category to Georgian Aleksandr Abramișvili. Despite these challenges, the achievements of Darius Adrian Sas shine brightly, showcasing the potential of Romania's future wrestling stars.
