Girov's Young Firefighters to Represent Romania at International Competition
Ten students from Girov are set to proudly represent Romania at the upcoming Olympiad of Young Firefighters. This exciting event will take place from July 13 to 18 in Šumperk, Czech Republic.
The girls, all students from the 'Prof. Gheorghe Dumitreasa' Gymnasium in Girov, earned their spot in this international competition by winning the national final last year. Their school has consistently performed well in national competitions focused on young firefighters, showcasing the dedication and talent of its students.
The Olympiad will feature over 50 teams of children from 22 different countries, including England, Austria, Bulgaria, and France, among others. Romania will also be represented by a mixed team from 'Gheorghe Surdu' High School in Brezoi and a boys' team from the German Theoretical High School 'Johann Ettinger' in Satu Mare.
The Girov team is under the guidance of dedicated teachers Mihaela Lisenche and Cristian Bordei, who have supported them throughout their journey. Irina Popa, the spokesperson for ISU Neamț, has expressed pride in the achievements of these young firefighters and their potential on the international stage.
