HalfPrice expands presence in Bucharest with new store opening
HalfPrice has officially opened its second store in Bucharest, located in the Mega Mall shopping center. This new addition doubles the brand's presence in the capital, following the launch of its first store in AFI Cotroceni earlier this year.
With the opening of this new location, HalfPrice now operates a total of 20 stores across Romania. The brand, which started in Poland in May 2021, has quickly established itself, boasting over 100 stores across 14 countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
HalfPrice is part of the CCC Group, one of Europe’s largest retailers of footwear and apparel. This group also owns the CCC stores in Romania and operates e-commerce platforms such as epantofi.ro and MODIVO.
Looking ahead, CCC Group is planning to launch a new chain called ShockPrice in Romania. Recruitment for a ShockPrice store in Arad has already begun, with available positions for Deputy/Store Manager. These stores will focus on smaller cities and will be located in retail parks, with sizes ranging from 1,200 to 2,500 square meters.
Dariusz Milek, the CEO of Modivo Platform, emphasized the vision for ShockPrice, stating, 'We want to be the king of off-price retail; we believe in this model.' Approximately 20% of the 100 off-price stores are expected to be launched under this new brand.
While expanding the ShockPrice brand, the CCC Group is also scaling back its Worldbox chain expansion by 70% this year, anticipating about 50 new locations. The Worldbox brand was brought to the capital earlier this year, with plans to have around 270 points of sale by the end of the year.
