New helpline connects young Romanians from the diaspora to educational resources in Romania

A dedicated helpline for young Romanians living abroad has been launched, offering crucial support for those considering education in Romania. This initiative, part of the "ProEduHub – Facilitating Access for Young Romanians from the Diaspora to Education in Romania. Come Home!" project, provides access to vital information about the Romanian higher education system.

The helpline, operated by Asociația InfoCons, is available from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00 (Romania time) at the phone number 021 9615. It is designed for young individuals aged 15 to 25 and their families residing in Italy and Belgium, helping them navigate the complexities of returning to study in Romania.

ProEduHub aims to bridge the information gap between the diaspora and Romanian higher education institutions. The project, funded by the Department for Romanians Everywhere, will run from August 1 to October 30, 2026, with a total approved budget of 151,675 lei.

The helpline offers a wide range of services, including details about universities, available study programs, admission processes, necessary documents for enrollment, and recognition of foreign studies. Additionally, it provides information about educational opportunities for Romanians abroad, tuition fees, scholarships, and other student benefits.

Complementing the helpline is a digital platform, proeduhub.infocons.ro, which consolidates information about universities, faculties, study programs, and relevant procedures for young Romanians in the diaspora. Interested individuals can also submit requests via the counseling form available online.

The ProEduHub project reflects InfoCons' ongoing commitment to promoting education and fostering connections between young Romanians abroad and the academic landscape in Romania. The initiative "United Through Education – Come Home!" emphasizes the importance of access to education, information, and maintaining ties with Romania.
