New Swimming Pool Opens in Oradea to Enhance Access for Children and Youth

A new instructional swimming pool has been opened in Oradea, offering a significant boost to the community's access to swimming activities. This facility can accommodate up to 65 children and their instructors simultaneously, making it a valuable resource for young swimmers in the area.

The swimming pool, measuring 25 meters in length and 12.5 meters in width, features five swimming lanes and varying depths between 1.20 and 1.80 meters. With a total useful area of 840 square meters, the pool is designed to meet the needs of both children and adults, particularly those from the Ioșia-Rogerius neighborhood.

Constructed at a cost of 2.7 million euros, the project began in 2021 and was ultimately completed in September 2026, experiencing a three-year delay from its original inauguration date. Despite the delays, the new facility is set to alleviate pressure on the existing Olympic pool, which is currently serving around 2,500 users each month.

In addition to the swimming area, the building includes changing rooms organized by gender, private lockers for instructors, and restrooms that are accessible to people with disabilities. It also houses a first aid cabinet designed with dual access for effective supervision of students.

The new swimming pool will be managed by the Municipal Sports Club (CSM) and is part of a broader initiative to expand sports infrastructure for children and youth, as highlighted by Cseke Attila, who emphasized the importance of such developments for the community.
