Next Play Romania showcases emerging video games in a national competition
The inaugural Next Play Romania show is set to take place on Friday, September 11, at 7:00 PM. This event marks a significant milestone as it is the first national showcase dedicated to highlighting Romanian video games currently in development.
During the show, 13 innovative video games will be presented, each team given just five minutes to impress the audience. Developers will share trailers, introduce their teams, and explain the ideas driving their projects, creating an engaging atmosphere for both participants and viewers.
Three content creators—Mădălin Adrian, Werty, and BoboSpider—are actively involved in the competition. Each creator will select three games from the 13 to form their own teams, fostering a sense of collaboration and rivalry. The audience is invited to tune in to Mădălin Adrian’s YouTube channel to watch the presentations and participate in the excitement.
At the end of the evening, nine games will be chosen to advance in the competition, which is set to unfold over approximately 12 weeks. Public voting will play a crucial role in determining which games continue forward, creating an interactive experience for viewers.
Next Play Romania is organized by the Romanian Game Developers Association (RGDA) in collaboration with Nexus Gaming and DBO, with support from Banca Transilvania. This unique initiative transforms the game development process into a public show, allowing fans to witness the creation of new functionalities and content in real-time.
As the competition progresses, the number of games will gradually decrease until a winner is crowned at the end of the first edition, celebrating the creativity and talent of Romania's gaming community.
