At just 23 years old, Octavian Popescu is set to make his mark in Greek football after leaving Romania on September 13, 2026. The young talent departed from Bucharest on a flight to Athens, where he will soon sign with Levadiakos.

Popescu's move has generated excitement among Greek fans, who are eager to see him play. He will be loaned to Levadiakos until the end of the season, with the club fully covering his salary. While Levadiakos will not have an option to buy him, Popescu's financial terms have improved significantly; his monthly income will rise to 15,000 euros, including a 5,000 euro increase from his previous salary at FCSB.

The transition comes with the agreement of Gigi Becali, who believes that this new environment will help Popescu distance himself from distractions in Bucharest. Becali has expressed confidence that the lack of financial temptations in Greece will keep Popescu focused on his career.

Levadiakos, recently taken over by Elias Charalambous with assistant Mihai Pintilii, is a mid-table team in need of fresh talent. Former player Cosmin Bărcăuan, who spent four years in Greece, has praised Popescu's abilities and believes he will thrive in this new setting.

Alongside Popescu, Levadiakos has also welcomed Adrian Șut and Alexandru Pantea, making it a promising time for the club. Despite facing challenges last season, Bărcăuan is optimistic about the team's future, hinting that changes are on the horizon. With high hopes pinned on him, Octavian Popescu is ready to embrace this new chapter in his football journey.
