Romania celebrates milestone with 10 companies included in FTSE Global All Cap indices

22 Aug 2026, 10:22

For the first time, Romania will have ten companies represented in the FTSE Global All Cap indices starting September 21. This significant achievement highlights the growing presence of Romanian firms in global financial markets.

Aquila Part Prod Com and Cris-Tim Family Holding are among the new entrants to this prestigious index. Both companies will join established names like Banca Transilvania, Electrica, and Hidroelectrica, which will maintain their positions.

Other companies like MedLife, Nuclearelectrica, One United Properties, Teraplast, and TTS Transport Trade Services will also continue to be part of the FTSE Global All Cap indices. Notably, Electrica will move from the Mid Cap category to Large Cap, reflecting its robust growth.

In addition to these advancements, Romania will see three companies included in the FTSE Global Micro Cap segment: Arobs Transilvania Software, Conpet, and the Bucharest Stock Exchange itself. However, Simtel Team will no longer be part of this category.

In total, starting September, 13 Romanian companies will be represented in the FTSE Russell indices dedicated to emerging markets. This follows Romania's promotion to emerging market status by FTSE Russell in 2020, a recognition that has led to increased visibility on the global stage.

Remus Vulpescu, the General Director of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, oversees these developments as Romania's capital market is set to be classified as an 'Advanced Frontier Market' by MSCI in June 2025. Currently, 35 Romanian companies are included in the MSCI indices, reflecting the ongoing growth and potential of Romania's economy.

The new changes are scheduled to take effect on September 21, 2026, but it's important to note that the results announced by FTSE Russell are indicative and may be subject to modification until September 4.
