Romania finishes fourth in World Rugby U20 Challenger

Romania has secured an impressive fourth place at the World Rugby U20 Challenger, showcasing the talent and resilience of its young athletes. Despite a tough match against Portugal, where Romania was defeated 67-13, the team demonstrated determination and skill throughout the tournament.

The match took place on Saturday in Santiago de Chile, and while the score reflected a challenging game, several players stood out. Mihai-Antonio Mitrea not only scored a try but also contributed with a penalty kick, while Alexandru Boldor added another try to the scoreboard, highlighting their individual efforts.

Throughout the tournament, Romania faced various opponents and recorded notable results, including a narrow victory against Brazil, winning 27-26, and a solid performance against Hong Kong, securing a 29-22 win. However, they faced a setback against the host nation, Chile, suffering a loss of 50-9.

Looking ahead, the Romanian team is set to compete in the European Under-20 Championship next month in Prague. This experience at the World Rugby U20 Challenger will undoubtedly serve as valuable preparation for the upcoming challenges.
