Romania shines at Balkan Open Championship with 28 medals on the first day

Romanian athletes made a remarkable impression at the 21st Balkan Open Championship, clinching 28 medals on the very first day. This impressive haul includes 10 gold medals, 5 silver, and 13 bronze, positioning Romania in second place in the national rankings.

The competition, held in Banja Luka, brings together 761 athletes from 22 countries, showcasing exceptional talent and sportsmanship. A total of 94 Romanian athletes participated in this prestigious event, demonstrating the nation's strength in martial arts.

Among the standout performances, Dana Maria Popescu and Rebeca Andreea Androne both earned gold medals in the U10 Fighting category, while Sara Evelina Stoica and Emma Victoria Porumboiu secured silver medals in the same age group. In the U14 category, Emma Marina Mazilu and Patrick Andrei Radu also earned gold, alongside several bronzes from their peers.

In addition to the achievements at the Balkan Open, Romania added another bronze medal from the JJIF World Cup Duo & Show, thanks to Natalia Mădălina Voda and Liana Neagu Moisa in the U21 Show Open.

As the competition continues in Banja Luka, the Romanian delegation remains hopeful and focused on further successes, building on their impressive start.
