Romania shines with two golds and four silvers at Balkan Summer Biathlon Cup

Romania has proudly secured two gold medals and four silver medals at the Balkan Summer Biathlon Cup held in Bansko, Bulgaria. This impressive achievement highlights the talent and dedication of young Romanian athletes.

The competition took place on August 22 and 23, where 11 Romanian athletes, including six boys and five girls, showcased their skills. Among them, David Brustur emerged victorious in the U19 boys' Sprint 7.5 km, and he also claimed silver in the 7.5 km event. His outstanding performance marks him as a key athlete in the team.

Magor Biro also made a significant impact by winning the Sprint 7.5 km in the U17 boys category and securing silver in the 7.5 km event. Meanwhile, Krisztina Paliy finished second in both the U17 girls' Sprint 6 km and the 6 km event, contributing to Romania's overall medal tally.

The success of these athletes is a testament to their hard work and preparation as they represent the national junior team CNOPJ - FOTE 2027. The Balkan Cup serves as an important training stage for the upcoming European Youth Olympic Festival (FOTE) to be hosted in Brașov, Romania, from February 14 to 21, 2027.

Puiu Gaspar, the President of the Romanian Ski-Biathlon Federation, expressed pride in the athletes' achievements, which not only enhance their profiles but also highlight Romania's growing presence in the sport of biathlon.
