Romania successfully evacuates five sick children from Gaza

In a compassionate humanitarian effort, Romania has evacuated five sick children from the Gaza Strip. This mission took place on Monday evening and marks the 12th humanitarian flight organized by the country, highlighting its ongoing commitment to assist those in need.

A total of 20 individuals were evacuated during this flight, which was conducted using a C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft from the Romanian Air Force. Onboard, a medical team provided essential monitoring and medical assistance to ensure the well-being of the patients throughout the journey.

This mission reflects Romania's commitments made during the Peace Council in Washington and was carried out under the auspices of the European Union's Civil Protection Mechanism. The operation was conducted in close cooperation with the World Health Organization, showcasing a united effort to support vulnerable populations.

Upon arrival in Bucharest, two of the patients are set to receive specialized medical treatment in Romanian hospitals, accompanied by their family members. Meanwhile, the remaining three children and their companions will be transported to Belgium for further care. This initiative is a heartening reminder of the solidarity and compassion that can emerge in times of crisis.
