Romania to Showcase Cultural Heritage at Phnom Penh Pavilion

Romania will unveil a cultural pavilion in Phnom Penh from November 13 to 17, highlighting the nation's rich artistic scene and heritage. This initiative is part of the broader participation in the 2026 Francophonie Village, which coincides with the 20th Francophonie Summit.

The pavilion, coordinated by the Ministry of Culture and executed by ARTEXIM, aims to create an interactive space under the theme "JEU INFINI – Créer le possible." Visitors will have the opportunity to engage in artistic experiences, discover projects inspired by Romanian heritage, and connect directly with cultural artists and professionals.

The program for the event includes exhibitions and projects dedicated to Romania's cultural legacy, immersive installations, performances, conferences, and professional meetings. An important aspect of the pavilion will be promoting Romania as a cultural and tourist destination.

This participation continues Romania's commitment to building its cultural presence at Francophonie gatherings, a testament to its full membership in the International Organization of La Francophonie since 1993. The authorities view the upcoming participation in Cambodia as a continuation of Romania's institutional and cultural presence on the international stage.

The Romanian government has approved the necessary funding for this cultural initiative, with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Romanian Cultural Institute, and the Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism. ARTEXIM, which was established in 1990 and reorganized in 2022, is recognized for its role in organizing international cultural events, including the renowned George Enescu Festival and Competition.

Romania's involvement in Francophonie events not only promotes its heritage but also contemporary creations and fosters international cultural cooperation, enhancing visibility for Romanian culture within the Francophone community.
