The report, authored by analysts Jordan Embree and Anthony Kim, underscores the strategic importance of Romania's geographical position and infrastructure. With bases like Mihail Kogălniceanu and the Aegis Ashore system at Deveselu, Romania is becoming a major logistical and operational hub for NATO, capable of hosting up to 20,000 troops and accommodating a range of aircraft, including F-35s. These developments are crucial for enhancing the U.S. military presence in the region.

Moreover, Romania is evolving into a 'security provider' by participating in multinational exercises, training Ukrainian pilots on F-16s, and conducting joint demining operations with Bulgaria and Turkey.
