Romania shines at the Balkan Rowing Championships with eight medals

Romania concluded the finals of the Balkan Rowing Championships on Sunday with an impressive total of eight medals. The nation secured four golds, one silver, and three bronze medals, showcasing the strength and talent of its young athletes.

Among the standout performances, Teodora Sandu and Maya Renata Bumbac clinched gold in the women's junior doubles without a coxswain (JWA 2−) with a time of 07:27.93. Gabriela Costinela Ursu and Andreea Măriuca Dumitrașcu also triumphed, winning gold in the women's junior doubles (JWA 2x) with a time of 07:13.65.

The men's junior eights (JMA 8+) team, consisting of Tristan Pierre Delacroix, Marian Alexandru Mihali, Răzvan Ioan Marin, and others, secured gold with an impressive time of 05:46.17. In addition, Sandu, Bumbac, Delacroix, and other teammates won gold in the mixed junior eights (JA Mix 8+) with a time of 06:06.27.

Romania's success extended beyond gold, as Nicoleta Simona Danci and Ianis Ștefan Macovei earned a silver medal in the mixed junior doubles (JB Mix 2x) with a time of 06:58.69. The bronze medals were claimed by Danci and her team in the junior women’s quadruple sculls (JWB 4x) with a time of 06:53.69, and Anca Andreea Culidiuc in the women’s junior singles (JWA 1x) with a time of 08:03.82.

Carolina Panuţa and Radu Andrei Enescu also brought home a bronze in the mixed junior doubles (JA Mix 2x) with a time of 07:05.52. Overall, Romania’s team of ten boats saw eight of them reach the podium, proving their prowess in the sport.

Building on Saturday's achievements, where Romania won nine medals, including three golds, five silvers, and one bronze, the performances at the Balkan Championships reflect the dedication and hard work of Romania's rowing community.
