Tech Catalyst România launches second edition for innovative startups

The second edition of Tech Catalyst România is set to take place in 2026, inviting innovative startups to join the competition. This initiative, led by Glovo, focuses on scaling Romanian startups that develop technological solutions with a significant impact on urban life.

Startups can apply until September 4, 2026, with online evaluations scheduled from September 7 to 11. The competition culminates in a final event on September 22, where the top five startups will present their projects. The winning team will receive a prize of 5,000 euros and will have the chance to participate in StartUp Campus 2026.

StartUp Campus 2026 will be held in Barcelona from October 6 to 8, 2026, offering winners three days of mentorship, masterclasses, and networking opportunities with investors and industry experts. This collaboration between the Autoritatea pentru Digitalizarea României and various organizations, including Asociația Municipiilor din România, CITI Cluster, ROStartup, and ADR, aims to align startup initiatives with national digital transformation priorities.

Cătălin Giulescu, president of the Autoritatea pentru Digitalizarea României, emphasizes the importance of this competition in fostering innovation and supporting the growth of local startups. Notably, 58 startups founded by former Glovo employees have collectively raised over 170 million euros, showcasing the potential for success in Romania's entrepreneurial landscape.
