New stretch of the A7 Motorway opens, enhancing connectivity in Moldova

On Monday, August 31, at 16:00, traffic will commence on 47.10 kilometers of the A7 Motorway, marking a significant milestone for Moldova's infrastructure. This newly inaugurated section extends between Adjud and Bacău Sud, contributing to a growing network of roads in the region.

The newly opened stretch includes Lot 2, which spans 24.5 kilometers from Adjud to Răcăciuni, and Lot 3, covering 21.5 kilometers from Răcăciuni to Bacău. With this addition, the A7 Ploiești – Pașcani route now boasts a total of 241.62 kilometers in operation, part of the full 319-kilometer stretch planned for the motorway.

Traffic will be directed to the Bacău bypass junction, linking with DN2F towards Vaslui. Furthermore, plans are in place to extend traffic by approximately 4 kilometers to the Bacău Nord junction of the Bacău ring road. This expansion underscores the commitment of CNAIR, under the leadership of Cristian Pistol, to ensure that every segment is opened only after all connections are completed and secure.

Cristian Pistol remarked on the occasion, stating, 'Moldova își primește autostrada – și, odată cu ea, perspective economice concrete de dezvoltare!' This sentiment reflects the broader economic potential associated with the new infrastructure.

Construction of these two lots was carried out by the Romanian contractor UMB, showcasing local expertise in infrastructure projects. As Romania reaches a total of 1,477 kilometers of motorways and express roads, CNAIR estimates that at least 200 kilometers of high-speed roads could be opened by 2026, further enhancing the country’s connectivity.
