Romania to Shine as a Tourist Destination at TTG Travel Experience 2026
Romania is set to showcase its diverse tourism offerings at the 63rd edition of the TTG Travel Experience in Rimini, Italy, from October 14 to 16, 2026. This event will provide an excellent platform for Romanian tour operators to connect with international partners and promote the country as a prime travel destination.
The Romanian delegation will feature 17 co-exhibitors from various sectors, including tourism, hospitality, and destination promotion. Among these are notable companies such as Absolute Guides, AVA Top Travel, and Radisson Blu Hotel Bucharest. The national stand will occupy 96 square meters and is strategically placed at the entrance of Pavilion C7, ensuring high visibility.
Italy is one of Romania's key source markets for tourism, ranking second in tourist arrivals in both 2023-2025 and the first eight months of 2026. This strong connection underlines the importance of promoting Romania to Italian tourists, who value diverse vacation experiences, quality services at reasonable prices, and the rich gastronomic and oenological offerings.
The Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism (MEDAT) is emphasizing various types of tourism, including cultural circuits, rural and nature tourism, city breaks, adventure tourism, and wellness tourism. These offerings are tailored to meet the interests of Italian travelers, many of whom are keen to explore more regions of Romania after their initial visits.
Representatives from different counties will also be present to promote their local attractions. For instance, the County Council of Suceava will highlight the 'Hai în Bucovina' program, which offers insights into cultural tourism, Christmas traditions, and hiking opportunities. Similarly, Bacău County will showcase its tourist destinations through its Public Service for Tourism Promotion and Mountain Rescue Coordination.
The Sibiu County Tourism Association will present UNESCO Bus tours and ecotourism packages, including cultural itineraries along the fortified churches and the Via Transilvanica. Additionally, the Prahova Tourism Development Association will share information about local attractions through interactive maps and promotional materials.
With approximately 325 kilometers of hiking trails, the Ținutul Vrancei will also be promoted as a destination rich in natural beauty. The participation at TTG Travel Experience not only allows for the presentation of these offerings but also enables Romanian businesses to network effectively with international tourism professionals, fostering valuable partnerships for the future.
